Career Online High School is a new educational service offered by the Rural Services Program of the New Mexico State Library.  The program offers adults (19 plus years of age) the opportunity to earn an accredited high school diploma and entry level career certificate at the same time.  In this new bookmobile program, qualified and successful student applicants will receive one free full tuition scholarship from the library.  Please see https://nm.careeronlinehs.gale.com for more information about the program and student application instructions.

  • Observe proper social distancing, providing 6 feet between themselves and others, whenever possible. 
  • Abide by the following occupancy limits on the bookmobile:
    • Only 2 individuals on the bookmobile at a time, not counting bookmobile staff, or 1 family living in the same household
    • Please be respectful of other patrons’ time, and keep your time on the bookmobile limited as much as possible

You will first need your login information, which can be obtained in person, by phone, or online by e-mail or Facebook page.

  • Go to: rbm.nmstatelibrary.org and log in using your information.
  • Search for books (make sure that the tab next to the search bar is set to ‘East Library’.)
  • Once logged in, you can place a hold on up to 3 items. Please allow at least two weeks before your stop to help us prepare your holds before we travel. If you would like to place holds on more than 3 items, please call our office or cell phone and we will assist you.
  • You can also create unlimited lists of books and other items in our catalog for your personal use and reference.

This program is funded in part with a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services which administers the Library Services and Technology Act. The bookmobile vehicles are purchased with funding appropriated by the New Mexico state legislature. Funds contributed by several counties and municipalities support our book budget.
