Be Creative @ Your Library
Express Yourself @ Your Library
As your Summer Reading Program comes to a close, please fill out the annual evaluation at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=wb9YEdJhWBvZNOUarOFOTg_3d_3d. Thanks so much for your time; your survey responses help the State Library provide more relevant programs for you!
Like last year, the State Library has teamed up with the national Collaborative Summer Library Program, a group of 46 states that works together to produce the manual, contract with nationally known artists, and work with a vendor to produce affordable supplies and incentives. The manual is an impressive 500+ pages, filled with ideas for crafts, programs, food, guest speakers and performers, etc., along with many lists of relevant books, web sites, movies, and more. The 2009 Summer Reading Program theme offers music, theater, dance, art, and of course lots of reading and fun!
The State Library held four creative workshops this winter around the state to look at the manual, exchange ideas and previous experiences, do some hands-on crafts, and more. Didn't make it to a workshop? The handouts are posted below:
- CSLP Copyright Highlights
- Great SRP Tips from NM Librarians
- Handy Resources for SRP 2009
- New Mexico Museum Websites
- Theme-related Books at the Workshop
This program is funded with a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services which administers the Library Services and Technology Act.
