"Taos park again named for Kit Carson, for now" – Santa Fe New Mexican

The Taos Town Council has rescinded its earlier decision to rename Kit Carson Memorial Park to Red Willow Park.  Council members voted 3-1 to rescind the downtown park’s new name of Red Willow and to form a community group that will explore alternative names.  But for now at least, the park again is officially named for the noted frontiersman.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration released a report on Tuesday that show behind the Gulf of Mexico, New Mexico, North Dakota and Wyoming were the next largest crude oil producers on federal and tribal land during the 2013 fiscal year. 7/8/2014
