"Parts of NM receive record rainfall; more on the way" Albuquerque Journal

Parts of drought-stricken New Mexico have received record rainfall, and forecasters say more is coming this evening.  A meteorologist with the National Weather Service said northern and central New Mexico will likely see locally heavy rainfall.  More severe weather in the state is expected this week, bringing the possibility of flooding and dangerous road conditions.


"New Mexico tax holiday starts Friday for shoppers" Albuquerque Journal

New Mexico’s annual tax holiday is approaching and will provide shoppers with savings on purchases of school supplies, computers and some clothing and shoes.  Starting Friday through the weekend, there will be no gross receipts tax on certain products purchased at participating retailers.  The Taxation and Revenue Department’s web site lists the tax treatment of various goods. – 7/28/2014
