New Mexico records 3rd Hantavirus death in 2014Las Cruces Sun News

New Mexico Health Department officials say a 28-year-old McKinley County man is the third person in the state to die from Hantavirus this year. The Department of Health says there have been a total of six Hantavirus cases in the state this year. Those include a 49-year-old Otero County man who remains hospitalized but whose condition is improving. 12/5/14


New Mexico has first measles case since early 2012Las Cruces Sun News

State health officials say New Mexico has its first confirmed case of measles since February 2012. The NM Department of Health says the case involves a 1-year-old Rio Arriba County child who had not been immunized against the disease. 12/4/14
