New Mexico State Library

Collections

New Mexico State Library collections serve as a resource for public libraries statewide, legislative staff, state employees, historians, genealogists, visually impaired residents, and people interested in state or Federal government, grant sources, and Southwest history and culture.

State government employees and members of the public can visit the library research room (upper level) to use the library’s resources from 1:00 – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Reference inquiries, requests for assistance in locating materials, requests for appointments to use Foundation Information Network resources, Federal and state publications, or the Southwest collection are handled daily, Monday through Friday, 8:00 to 5:00. Please contact us by calling or emailing reference services.

Check for holdings in the State Library’s online catalog; however, many of the library’s holdings are not included in the online catalog. If you cannot find what you are looking for, contact a reference librarian.

The State Library has a collection for library professional development. Recent acquisitions are listed here.
