Nuestra parte de la biblioteca, que queda en el primer piso, es una colección especial para la historia y cultura de Nuevo México y la región suroeste de los Estados Unidos de América. New Mexico's Statehood Centennial!
The Archives and Historical Services Division of the State Records Center and Archives, along with the State Library's Southwest Collection staff have collaborated to present an exhibit commemorating New Mexico's 100th birthday, January 6, 2012. On display are reproductions of New Mexico's two state flags: the Twitchell flag of 1915 and the Mera flag of 1925. Also included in the display are the statehood proclamation signed by President William Howard Taft, reproductions of New Mexico newspaper headlines from January 6, 1912, and books about New Mexico and its struggle for statehood from the State Library's Southwest Collection. Exhibit curated by Al Regensberg (State Archives), with assistance from Faith Yoman (State Library).
Current exhibits feature selections from the State Library's Southwest Collection about Cowboys of the Southwest, in conjunction with the Museum of New Mexico's History Museum exhibit, "Cowboys". Curated by Virginia Lopez.
