A Summer Shipment

Memo to State Publication Program Libraries

June 2010

Greetings Depositories!

Summer is here and so is another shipment of state docs- over 200 in this batch.

The rule change that will allow us to collect electronic documents will have its final commission meeting on June 17th.  If all goes well we should be collecting electronic documents by the end of the month.  This will lead to some new challenges for our tech services department which has been working to figure out how we will be handling what we expect to be a large quantity of materials.

Our thanks to those of you who have filled out the surveys.  We are working on telling the story of state docs so if you have any stories about how state docs have helped your patrons, or what state docs mean to you -- now is the time to share.

Due to the poor economy and space issues we have lost 2 depositories- Los Alamos and Carlsbad.   Thanks to all of you who are still working with us to provide the public with access to state materials.  If you know of any other libraries which may be interested in becoming a depository please let us know!

The new version of the state constitution, The Inspection of public records compliance guide, the executive budget, NM Geology, El Palacio and the much anticipated Brand Book are in this shipment.  Enjoy!
